Developing Yourself in Clinical Research
Developing Yourself in Clinical Research is an opportunity for you if you have gained experience in clinical research and are now ready to build on your knowledge base and expand your role. This course will also allow you to explore extended roles for both research nurses and clinical trial practitioners.
The course is suitable if you have, or would like, more responsibility for:
- creating systems and processes
- helping to write and develop protocols and other trial documentation
- managing teams, more complex workloads and trial portfolios
Topics covered on the day will be Quality Assurance (QA), protocol development, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and preparing for audit and inspection.
You will also have the opportunity to explore ways of developing yourself as an ‘advanced clinical practitioner’ or a ‘clinical research specialist’. Both research nurses and clinical research practitioners will benefit from the various pathways discussed in this course.
During a session at the end of the day you will have the chance to reflect on why you chose research and what opportunities this growing field has to offer. In this final session, we will also discuss the various career pathways open to those working in the field of clinical research to help you discover or affirm the right path for you.
Course material will be delivered through presentations, interactive sessions, small group work and personal reflection.
